I have been a Member of S.S.P.S since 1940. My first camera was a Kodak folding pocket one which I bought about the late 1920's. Since then I have used other makes such as a Zeiss Ikonta, Leica 11, Pentax Spotmatic's and now I use a Pentax 35 mm Camera, also I use a tripod or monopod.
Films I use mostly Kodak or Ilford mono, colour various makes. Print paper that I have used are Bromesko, Plastika and Gervolux, during the war years I was pleased to use any film or paper I could get. Now I mostly do 35 mm slides, although in the early years I used the now defunct 3 ¼ sq. mono slides. Since 1940 I have enjoyed being a member of S.S.P.S and look forward to every meeting.
The 2002 South Shields International Salon, which was the 62nd annual Salon staged by the Society, was the first, since the very beginning, in which Jack did NOT play an active role. (though he did keep a close eye on things!)
