The South Shields Digital Group is a friendly bunch of photo
enthusiasts who come together every fortnight to learn the ins and outs of
digital photography. We have over 50
members and the meetings cover all aspects of digital photography - the
syllabus coming directly from the members needs. We show how to use your
camera, how to save your images onto your computer, and what to do with them
once they’re on there! The group has been learning both basic and advanced
Photoshop techniques, how to make a slideshow with music and how to get prints
which you can be proud of. There is no need to have ‘fancy’ equipment and complete
novices as well as advanced Photoshop users are catered for. There’s even tea
and biscuits!
There is no long term commitment and you don’t have to be a
member of the Society to attend- a nominal charge of £1 per member per meeting
to cover the hire of the hall, teabags etc. is all we ask. Over the summer we arrange a dozen or so visits to local
places of interest which helps members to understand their camera better and,
in turn, hopefully improve their pictures.
We also run a couple of coach trips per year to places further afield
and have just returned from a 1940’s weekend in Haworth, Yorkshire.
If this sounds good to you then come along to a DigitalGroup night every other Wednesday at 7pm till approximately 9pm at St Michael’s and All Angels Parish church at the junction of Mowbray Road and Westoe Road, South Shields. See you there!
